Need help finding “Doulas in the Central Valley?

Women have been helping women in labor all throughout history. The word doula comes from the ancient Greek meaning “a woman who serves” and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth.

Andrea is a Fresno doula who has a passion for helping women during one of the most important days of their lives – the day they bring a new life into the world! I am proud to join many other doulas in Fresno and around the world who want to support and encourage women through this wonderful time in their lives.

What doulas do NOT do

A doula does not:

• Perform clinical tasks, such as taking blood pressure, doing fetal heart checks, vaginal exams, etc.

• Make decisions for you. I will help you get the information necessary for you to make an informed decision. I will also remind you if there is a departure from your Birth Plan.

• Speak to the staff on your behalf. I will discuss your concerns with you and suggest options, but you or your partner will speak on your own behalf to the clinical staff.
